“My dream is to see every little girl in Benin have the chance I had… access to a great and sustained education. It has allowed me to accomplish all of my aspirations.”
Batonga founder Angelique Kidjo recently wrote an article for The New York Times Africa correspondent Nicholas Kristof, author of Half the Sky. The article, titled ‘Daughter of Independence’, is Angelique’s reflection on her home country, Benin, 50 years after it declared its independence from France. Be sure to read it and look for a Batonga mention at the end of the article!
